What gives? I placed an order on Saturday evening, you shipped it from Chiba prefecture Sunday morning, and it arrived at my door this afternoon. The product is in perfect condition, is exactly what I ordered, and was 30% off the price you quoted me on Friday. You're giving me bonus points to cash in at some later date, you allow me to use an American billing address and Japanese shipping address simultaneously - and my shipping was free. Seriously, man, on the rare occasion that I order things online, I expect postal delays, a slew of obnoxious e-mails, damages incurred on-route, and nasty handling charges. Who gave you the right to be so efficient?
We'd best not tell the Americans about this. They'd all move here and the game would be up. Better we keep it our little secret.
love,
-Kate

I wonder whether the Japanese would recognize our American "spin" on the state of customer service.....that our lack of repeatability was simply "creativity" and our emphasis on the sale over the service was simply "entrepreneurial." Some day "efficiency" will be appreciated for what it is: excellence! But Kate, please don't move to Japan. - Dad
